Pursuant to
the Decision of the Minister of Transport and
Maritime Economy (of April 7, 1999) the air field
located in the area under management of SAG was
entered into the National Register of Civil Air
Fields under number 47 as a civil airport of a
reference code 3B with a runway of concrete pavement.
It is allocated for airplanes and gliders taking off
and landing. The air field has got a concrete runway
(1600 m long and 40 m wide), hardened taxi roads and
a part covered by grass.

Strategic
documents of Lower Silesia Province indicate a need
to operate the air field in Legnica. Authorities of
Legnica - having perspectives in mind - accepted
a final model of operation of the air field and
approved "The Outline of Management of the Air
Field in Legnica" in 2001.
In "The
Study of Conditions and Directions of Spatial
Development of the Town of Legnica" approved in
January 28, 2002 the Town Council of Legnica
indicated the air field as one of elements having got
a positive influence on the town development.
Now works are
pending aimed at execution of the spatial development
plan of the air field which will be followed
preparation of necessary documentation for investment
purposes.

Talks
are kept with possible investors and companies being
interested in this project.
